Before Antaheen
Music existed at GCETTB long before Antaheen — but continuity was difficult.

A Legacy
Beyond Generations
Music existed at GCETTB long before Antaheen — but continuity was difficult.
Earlier musical groups at GCETTB included Virus (2004–2005), Sudden (2010), and MAASK (2016–2017).
Antaheen was created to bring the music fraternity of GCETTB under one identity.
Founded by Soujanya Chatterjee, Arko Goswami, and Ayanava De, with contributions from Arka Bairagi and Pratik Mondal, and mentorship from Kunal Lama.
The band began using college-owned drums while students contributed guitars, keyboards, and other equipment.
Dedication over seniority. Talent matters. Commitment matters. Year does not.
Traditionally senior students received priority for major performances while juniors often remained limited to chorus roles. Antaheen changed this — third- and fourth-year students sacrificed their own practice time to train first- and second-year students.
By 2019, Antaheen had become known across Berhampore and Murshidabad, performing outside GCETTB including at MCET.
Porichoy. Phire Cholo. Lorai. And later, Phele Aasa Sohor.
From 2022 onwards, Antaheen began receiving institutional funding from the college.
Improved resources and equipment helped the band perform better, train juniors, acquire equipment, and preserve the musical culture.
The legacy does not belong to one batch. It belongs to everyone who carries it forward.
Talib and Aditya coordinated and released this Antaheen original.
Souvik Mandal and Arya Sankar Debnath lead the current generation of Antaheen.
2017 was only the beginning. 2026 is not the end. Antaheen — for a century, and beyond.
